Minimum Wage Increases Effective July 1, 2021

Effective July 1, 2021, local minimum wage increases will take effect across California. The minimum wages in the following cities will increase as follows:

• City of Los Angeles - $15.00/hour

• City of Malibu - $15.00/hour

• City of Pasadena - $15.00/hour

• City of San Francisco - $16.32/hour

• City of Santa Monica - $15.00/hour

The minimum wage increases in these cities is above state's minimum wage requirements, which is currently $13.00/hour for employers with 25 employees or less, and $14.00/hour for employers with 26 employees or more.

Employers are required to comply with both state and local minimum wage laws. Where a local minimum wage rate exceeds the state minimum wage rate, employers must comply with the local rate.
